Writing for the web: how to get discovered

Search Engine Optimization experts know a little secret: when web crawlers are on the lookout for new content, they tiptoe through pages looking for certain words that would make them worth inclusion in search results. They call them keywords - which are what you type into your own search box when you're looking for some quality information. The results that pop up are not at all random; they're based on the closest content matches to what you've typed in.

The content in your articles helps to determine where your page comes up in internet search results.
